The cost of the SG sector depends upon how many sectors it takes to search back to a normal space sector from the one you are going to build. So the more sectors it has to search through the higher the cost.

All that matters is how many nodes it has to search back through to find a normal sector. How you do it doesn't mater to me.

Basically it is the FIRST route it finds to a normal space sector. Not the shortest that determines the cost of creating the next SG sector in a chain. The more branches that are allowed in an SG sector the less likely the shortest path will be found for the cost.

In otherwords if you only have TWO warp links in all of your SG sectors then you will always find the shortest path back to normal space. If you have more links than that then it is a toss up and it may cost you more. It is kind of a choice. You can have more links and possibly pay MORE for each successive link deep or just have the normal in and out link and pay the cheapest price.
