FYI.. for those of you who haven't seen it yet, (I shure hadn't) if you have planets back in a hole that go indy on you and you have no defences in the sector. Independent may/will drop billions of mines in the sector and no fighters. So while going and reclaiming your indys you could lose your multi septillion credit ship to mines by just going thru your own sectors even though you own the sector.

But... by just dropping a single mine in each sector you can prevent this...while I don't know why it dropped several billion mines (will have to wait for PJ to get back to see) this will prevent a planet going indy to drop any SD.

That shouldn't have happened. The number of mines that can be dropped is supposed to be tied to the SD Weapons Tech level just like the fighters.

I thought earlier in the forum discussion it was stated that a player could drop only the number of fighters that a tech lvl could support but that mines were unlimited. So this has changed?

But I do agree that an indy shouldn't be able to drop more then the planet they have taken over has available. I guess if they are considered like any other player and can in theory use a ship to obtain additional mines to deposit for defenses, then they should have the same handicap as the rest of us and the independent ship should have to be able to pass through the players defenses with the same amount of risk.
