So if I take a planet through spies, I thought the planet could not support the enemy fighters, yet I still see them sitting there strong as ever.

What makes them go away? There are no other planets in the sector. It only held one, and now I own it.

The fighters no longer decay. They only use energy from a planet if they are attacked.

If they do not have any planets to provide energy and you attack them they can't attack back. They just die like a flock of moths in a flame.

guess I will test this. 12 mil in fighters vs my little 500k is not going to be pretty if you are wrong.

okay. That worked just fine. Thanks. Took a couple of runs to take out that many, but no damage.

if those same fighters belonged to a player you would get a bounty for, can you still take them out of your newly owned sector?

The same rules apply even if there are no planets supporting the fighters.
