Yep the local map is limited to 1000 sectors. So it will only show that many no matter what if you engines are high enough. You are better off using the main map.

I have also just updated the local map. The turn selector should now be 100% accurate. It shouldn't lose any sectors like it did before.

I basically moved some code over from the 3D map to fix that problem.

Oh, and the 3D map will let you view sectors around you with a turns to move selection and aselection for viewing all sectors in a spiral arm. Working on an auto zoom feature to zoom in on certain areas so the sectors can be tagged with numbers.

Eventually the 3D map will be very, very useful for exploring sectors close to you.

I just tried it in the beta game and the local map was completely accurate on the turns it took to go to sectors. Even changed different turn settings.
