Well due to the numerous blatant bounty attacks in the beta I was prompted to build a solution. The fed is now automated. If you get more than a specific amount of fed bounties the fed ship will show up in your sector and attack you. You will receive damage to your tech levels which you will then have to get repaired. These attacks will come once a day till you pay the bounty off. Of course the cost for the repairs are credited against the amount of the bounty so you still have a chance to pay it off.

So those with fed bounties beware, your nightmare has just begun!

Also, another change is the cost of things at Kabal Ports if you have fed bounties.

The cost of everything at Kabal Ports will multiply 10 times for each fed bounty you have. If you have 10 fed bounties expect to pay 100 times the normal cost for something. If fighters are normall 50 each you will have to pay 5,000 each if you have 10 fed bounties.
