Ok, we have found that players are exploiting something that is making the game very, very unbalanced.

We have teams that are comprised of big players who are hiding behind small player sectors. This means that other big players cannot threaten the hiding big players without incuring massive bounties in trying to get to them.

This has been a problem for a long time and we have tossed around a number of ideas on how to solve the problem and have settled on a solution.

Everyone is getting fair warning right now so they can make changes in anticipation of this new change. You will have until late friday night or saturday before this change comes into effect. That gives you 1-2 days.

Ok, now here is the nasty part.

If you are on a team the bounty check for ALL team members will be based upon the HIGHEST ranking team member on that team.

What this means is that if you are a low ranked player on a team with a high ranked player you can be attacked by OTHER high ranked players in your highest team mates range and they will not get a bounty. The low ranked players on a team with a high rank player will have to rely on the high rank player to protect them until they get just as high.

Teams will nolonger be able to have a low ranked teammate populate the entrance to a SG sector to prevent other high ranked players from entering without getting a bounty.

So any teams that are using this strategy you have 1-2 days to change how you are doing things. Once the change is in place then your low ranked teammates can nolonger protect you and the low ranked players become vulnerable.

does this count when your low and your attacking the opposition? like, lets say you had someone had 1000k points, and you were like 200k points, could you attack someone with 300k points?


Well you will always be able to attack anyone higher. The bountyrange will be based on your score and your enemies highest player. So if your ememy is numero uno in score thier whole team is fair game for you.

The way it works is the attacker uses their score for the attacker calculation of the bounty routine.

The defender will us the score of the higher player on their team for the defender calculation of the bounty routine.

This way the attacker still has bounty limits on who they can attack.

This feature has just been added.

If you are on a team then your teams highest player is used for calculating the bounty check if you are being attacked.

So basically every planet and every player on your team has the same bounty settings as the largest player on your team when it comes to people attacking your planets and ships.

When you are attacking other players your personal ranking is used.
