Dear Players,
Due to the many problems with the game code and lack of support for it, we will no longer be hosting AAT.
perhaps in the future the developers will fix the code and we may host it again....in the mean time we are looking into a replacement game that is similiar....if all goes well it will be up and running this week.
til then check the home page for updates....and check out Promisance, Legend of the green dragon and/or Quantom star.....

http://mud.schnizits.com/logd/

http://mud.schnizits.com/quantumstar/

we will miss having aat for you...its realy a great game...but it needs to mature b4 we can host it again.
we'd like to thank you all for play'n at schnizits....
and we hope to see you return when the new game is up.

Good Luck & Good Hunting!

Gvar, Joker, and the rest of the Schnizits crew.

Odd, you never reported any kinds of problems.

Would please detail what problems you were having? Others don't seem to be having any problems as there are 56 servers currently running the game.

Sorry to see you go but when you don't let us know about any problems it is kind of hard to help out.

But then again I DO remember that your server had some of the most OUTLANDISH game settings. Settings we would NEVER have recommended anyone to use. The settings you used would cause the database to have many problems. There is nothing we can do about the admins setting the game settings in a manner that causes the game to fail.

yes im sure its all my fault......it always is. and of course im not gonna report problems to u PJ.....last time i did u werent at all helpful... or the time b4 that even....so y waste my time and urs?
yes my game had some pretty "outlandish" settings....i have been try'n to tailor the game towards hunting rather then planet farming..... 14 was much more compatable to the needs of myself and my players... how ever as u know its loaded with bugs...reguardless of admin settings..... 20 is real pretty....but geared towards planet farming...and i feel that the combat system is somewhat imbalanced.....and i can think of many other things id change..if i had the time and inclination to do it.....however i dont....personaly i think it will be a great game ....someday.

perhaps had u been a lil less defensive...and ANSWERED my questions ...i might have tried harder to maintain my game......however i do know that u would not approve of my settings or even my Korruption of ur game... i can understand that.....no one likes to see their dreams changed by anyone.

hopefully u'll take this as positive input...... its just my point of view

Gvar

the most recent problem stems from the new install patch....when we try'd to use it...(and i followed ur instructions ) it caused us to c a blank white page.....i personaly have no clue as to what it did to cause it.....and as i stated when ive asked questions here they've gone unanswered so i dint bother to ask

I've got some killer settings for the tourney server that would have probably worked more like you want. There are many ways to tweak the settings without the need to have so much cash that you cause the databases to corrupt. There are also ways to adjust any of the combat settings to meet some of your individual needs. We have set the game so you can tailor the settings to meet the needs of the individual server.

Large credit settings in the game can cause a huge load to show up on a server over time. If you adjust your prices lower you would actually be better off if your looking for a fast game and quick cash.

Just trying to help, sorry you had problems. Our game may not be for everyone, but we always try to help as best as we can.

u c... now theres a good answer.......ty

i hadnt thought on those lines.....reduce prices...instead of raise'n capital

ill give it some thought.....i do realy like the game.... most if not all of my players like my game because its FAST and im a fairly active admin (ive been to several aat games and tried to contact the respective admins...some took weeks to answer some never did) ..i try to answer my players as promptly as possible...its not the game so much as the SERVICE factor .....anyways...i havent been try'n to "upstage" u guys...ive just been try'n to make it a lil faster and a lil more exciting..use'n whats there (and yes ive done some minor tinkering to the code) ......and it can be very hard when u ask a valid question..and get no reply....or one that makes the asker look stupid..... perhaps u should lock pj up in a lil room with his puter and YOU handle the ppl aspect of the game. sorry pj

Tarnus is slowly becoming like me because most people do not take the time to try and find out a problem on their own and want to be hand held through everything. Am I a people person? Yes, when people actually take the effort to solve their own problems and give me enough information so I can help them. No, when people complain, give no real useful information or they expect us to do everything for them.

The game is very easy and simple to install and setup but some people still mess that up and it is frustrating.

Oh and your problem was because you didn't install ALL of the patches that were released in the order of them being released. The optimization patch required the lag patch to be installed for it to work. And to help clarify things we even added in large yellow text tell people they need to install previous patches before installing newer patches.

Of all the forks for BNT we are constantly on top of things in the game. When there are problems or bugs we quickly fix them and release a patch or information on how to fix the problems. With the 0.20 we haven't had any real bugs. Nothing that was a game stopping bug. We have basically just released patches to speed things up, make some things easier or prevent DOS style attacks on the game.

The 0.20 release has been one of the most flawless, bugfree versions and easiest to install version of AATrade and definately more bug free than BNT or any BNT fork. So your comments in the start of this thread are completely unfounded and that is one thing that does set me off.

So have fun running something else.

Neongreen, if you know of 20 bugs in the current game then please post them in the bug forums. We would like to know what they are so we can fix them if they are bugs.

And Gvar, in this case you were at fault.

1. You didn't install all of the patches which caused you no end of problems. It's kind of hard to help someone if they haven't installed all the fixes we provided. We assumed you did that. Not our fault.

2. You used settings on your server that were 100% guaranteed to cause the game to fail in a very short period of time. Not our fault.

If you check the messages posted we TRIED to help you. Both Tarnus and Myself tried a few times but you never told us everything you were doing. We can only do so much. And in this case it was your fault you were having problems.

And yes I get very short with people after I find out they were the ones causing the problems and it was no fault of the game. Especially after they are blaming the game for their problems when they screwed up.

A1. i did indeed follow ur directions.....
This is a rewritten install.php. Alot more information is given about the server and what needs to be done to complete the installation.

Overwrite the existing install.php in the main game directory.

YOU MUST INSTALL THE LAG/REFRESH PATCH AND THEN THE OPTIMIZATION PATCH BEFORE INSTALLING THIS PATCH!

Download Installer

PS: In about a week we will have out a consolodation release. This will have all of the existing patches incorporated into it and possibly a few other new items. This way anyone wanting to start a new server just has to download one file instead of all those patches in addition to the main download.

this resulted in a blank white pg (btw...i used the oem code and default settings)

2. You used settings on your server that were 100% guaranteed to cause the game to fail in a very short period of time. Not our fault.

A2. how would u know? most of the changes i made had nothing to do with the other problems i had, and were made thru the admin utility and within reason....a few examples r... high igb int., high planet production,ect...

and so once again u failed to see......instead of offering something helpful....
i expected no less
