Did you run the install.php before you ran anything else?

If you didn't then that is your problem. The install.php MUST be run before you do anything else.

Almost sounding like a path or url issue... double check your paths.

Yes, the create universe creates all of the tables in the database.

Also, what version of the game are you installing?

Is there an earlier version that needs to be installed before this one? I have deleted the install, re-installed and updated to the 0.14.1 files just to see if that would work, but the same problem still arises.

Should I install the earliest known iteration and build up from there?

No .141 shpuld be all you need. What version of PHP and mysql???

Hmmm .... should work, but that isn't helping you. Double check and make sure the user you have setup has permission to write to the database. It should have created tables and filled them using the create_universe scripts.

There is your problem.

You are using 0.14 and should download 0.141. Version 0.14 had a problem with locking up on the create universe if it was a new game and not a reset of an existing game. Download the 0.141 version from here.
