I'd recomentd going to the newset version. Also will need to know what versions of php and mysql you are running.
But it appears you havent got the corect login setup for your database.

You are apparently using the wrong username and/or password to connect to the database. You need to have those correctly entered in your config. They are set using the install.php.
Well first off, aatrade does not support php 5 yet. Will in .30 but that is still on the horizon. To run it you will need to use php 4 and mysql 4. Also the error you were getting related to a id passwd / permision to access the database problem, so you might wanna look closer at that.

Start with getting apache and php and mysql working properly before you start trying the game. Create a file called php_info and place this in it:
Once you execute this script it will show you all that is installed into php and tell you if its working or not.
Hope this helps a little anyways.

look for easyphp, I have used that in the past and had the running on a number of windows machines.
It is very easy to set up and comes with apache, php and mysql.
Well, it looks like you don't have PHP installed properly.
One thing we don't have is any real support for windows servers. They are just too flaky. If you were trying to run this on a linux server we could probably work out the problems.
The next versions installer will have a feature to create the database for you as long as the user you have given has privelidges to create new databases.
