I would like some players to help me test a new hosting company.
Game setup is tournament/fast but with newby protection.

As this is a test, please don't expect the game to last very long.
If it does work well, then I will keep it going.

The more the merrier as this is a test.

The speed seems fine WHEN the game is running, but currently the game keeps on returning "Unable to connect to DB"

One question...

Alf, when you setup the game did you have Persistent Connections checked or UnChecked? If you had it checked you need to uncheck it.

At present the new company has server problems, it has been some hours now and still down.

It has now been over 18hrs of down time, not good.

I can see how that could possibly happen and I am not going to complain because things like that have happened to us.

Now if this is a regular occurance and not an isolated incident then there might be a problem.

Hopefully they will give you credit for the down time.

Their control panel is now down, and I have had enough of them at this stage.
All I get from them is sorry for any inconvience........

TD, I am still waiting for an answer from them, the game, database etc is all still there. I have had to move my domain back to my other hosting as I do not want the down time.
If they can set me up with a new domain then the game will be back in the state that it was left in.

Just went in to SD my player, but it came up with error, then I bought a new ship without a ep and deflectors, and looked for mines, but found enemy-ship. Tried to attack but it came up with errors again. Then I found enemy planets. I thought that attacking any planet with level zero on all levels should do the trick, but wrong again I actually defeated the planet. Funny to see that I could defeat a planet when I have no levels above zero. Attack another planet and the it went the way I wanted:)

Server is ticking over pretty good. It would be nice to get a few more players on to test out how it would cope with a number players on at one time.

There are plenty of turns, easy credits to be made and of cause the wit of Mr Happy....

The number of players on does not read true so check the rankings for their last time on line.

Big, you are allowed back, but remember we are testing out the server, not testing out you.

I am a part-time player, yet look at my Eff and Turns Used compared to Mr Happy.

If I had a little more time, where would Mr Happy be?

is to a game where I have managed to get the expanding universe working, but the online counter is not working.

Remember these are test games, but I will leave them running for as long as I can.

I will wait for .30 before I look at setting up a real domain link to this server, as that will be the real test.

If you would like to have me try another tournament here, then suggestions, Please.
