i can;t be quiet any longer, so many people are talking about the movie 300, saying its based on a true story but thats not true, cause Mr. Miller took a lot of liberties to make it more appealing with his comic style of art . 300 is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Frank Miller, one of my favourite modern artists, which was based on the true story about 300 Spartans attempting to defend against an enormous amount of Persians.

the Story is pretty close to the Legend, but probably not close to what really happened...The truths in legends are very minimal so taking liberties with the retelling of the legends seems fine with me...Since who ever translated the legend for the artist most likely took liberty with there input also before presenting it to the artist...

I figured I'd point out the fact that it is INSPIRED by a true story, not neccessarily BASED on a true story. And while it is true that Frank Miller took some liberties with the story, its also true that the original legend that the graphic novel was based on also took liberties with the (f)actual events.

Regardless, the movie is great, and I'm getting tired of people trying to overanalyze or put the movie down due to it not being what the think actually happened. ITS A DAMN MOVIE!!! Enjoy the movie, or shut the HELL UP! No one forced you to pay to go see it, so if you have a problem with it, who CARES?!?!

I hope no one thinks I don't like the movie. Cause in fact I think it's amazing, I just think its annoying how so many people think it was based off a true story; putting it side by side with other movies that were really based on true stories. Its based off of what is basically a legend now, obviously things have been exaggerated and others most likely twisted. But its an awesome movie either way.
