The Federation has announced it has formed new trade agreements to offer a wider range of trade goods for its citizens. All newly created planets and ports may include the new trade items. Unfortunately the Federation was not able to broker an agreement to supply these new trade items to existing planets and ports. Planets may see a FIFTH commodity on their production settings. This commodity has an initial production percentage of 0. The planets owner will have to adjust this to fit their needs. The following commodities have been added by the new trade agreements: Edit: added initial maximum port purchase pricesBio Medical Supplies - 4,000 credits Bio Weapon Systems - 2,000,000 credits Communication Satellites - 900 credits Consumer Electronics - 700 credits Entertainment Software - 150 credits Hovercraft - 1,200 credits Prefab Housing - 3,000 credits Ship Hulls - 12,000,000,000 credits Slaves - 0.5 credits Weapon Systems - 12,000 credits Some of these items, such as Ship hulls, can only be manufactured on planets. Ports will not be able to sell them but they can purchase them. Items like Ship Hulls will take hundreds of thousands of colonists to build one hull but the port purchase prices will be in the billions of credits. Some of the new trade items will also take up more hull space per item. Instead of one item taking up one cargo hold you may see one item requiring thousands of cargo holds. You might need a Hull Class of 250 to carry ONE item. Trade prices for these large items will reflect the cost of having to transport them. The Federation is actively pursuing new trade agreements to offer more opportunities for the business men and women of the galaxy.

Supposedly they are in the game. Hell if I have found any yet. I think its an intergalactic scam job I hope the price starts better than what untraded ports are or it still wont be worth trading. Although I do like the idea of rare ports. Maybe we can use a warp probe to help find them (hint... hint)

I have been out of town for the last 6 days and won't be back until tuesday. My internet connection is iffy and goes out at the drop of a hat. When I get back I will be adding a bunch of new ports and commodities to existing ports. You will also see a change in many of the displays associated with ports and trading. I have been able to make even more changes while away.

I think "Slaves" is a little distasteful of an item.
Can we change that to Workers or WorkDrones or something else?

What I would like to be able to do is open up AAT at work and not have the corp. firewall flag because it saw the word slaves 100 times in a browser session. I just don't need that kind of scrutiny from security.

Please let me know in this thread of any problems. Just a reminder... We can't buy and sell any of the new commodities except hovercraft. The ports look cool though

Sunday Mar 8, 2009.
The new ports still don't work.
You might try these new things in beta before you put them on main in the middle of a round.

Cephus He actually did test them to start with. At least one of them work. Some of the items can only be manufactured from planets then sold. I think he got sidetracked with real life before he could fix em... they really don't cause any issues, just dont work at the moment. Should be fixed soon.

When you say,"they don't really cause a problem", you are wrong. I have cargo holds I can't use now because I can't sell what is in them. Maybe you could get rid of the items in my cargo holds that I can't sell so I can use them to play the game.??

Cephus Wait a minute, the original problem was that you couldnt buy anything. So now your saying you can. The only thing I knew that could be bought was Hovercraft and I had bought and sold those with no issues. How bout we detail the issues we are having so PJ knows where to fix them instead of a note that says ports are not working. Thats like taking your car to the shop and saying its broke EDITJust found out that I can buy and sell items now but I managed to over use my hull and sent PJ a screenshot and what I did to cause it. So now he can track it down more easily
