We have added the following languages to the game:

    Albanian
    Catalan
    Danish
    Dutch
    Finnish
    Indonesian
    Norwegian
    Portuguese
    Swedish

We used Google's Translation System to create the translations for the game. We know they will not be perfect but we hope they are good enough for others to play the game in their native language. We have also updated the other languages that had already been in the game to convert the english text to the correct language.

We are planning to add support for more languages but we need to get the game compatible with UTF8 encoding. Many other languages we would like to include require UTF8 support. The game has some support right now but it is not working as it should. It on the list of things to get working properly. :)

We did have to remove the Russian language support because it hasn't been displaying properly for a long, long time. To really support Russian UTF8 is a must.

It will take a day or two before we can get the languages in the classes (probes, artifacts, etc.) updated.

Haven't been able to test igb yet. I did notice debris is pretty much translated, unless it's junk. I get the "your engineers have determined it's useless space junk".

Yep, none of the class items like debris, probes, artifacts, etc have been converted yet. I have to do them by hand. :) Can't use a program to do it like I did with the language directories. The class items contain their own language text totally independent of the master language files. I haven't made it to dutch yet. :)

Question... does the translation get pulled from anywhere, or are the sentences in the program anywhere? I don't know how it works. if they are written somewhere, I volunteer to fix them up, they are all fubared, LOL!

They are in files. :) I used Google's Translation software to translate everything. Translation software is notorious for getting syntax completely wrong in most languages.

I could send you the files but they are huge. 82 files for a total of 187k of text. Now you know why we haven't fixed or made new translations. :)
