Cool a trail...Will the releaser of the prob be able to see the trail? Example: Let on go in the evening, then follow the trail in the morning?

I doubt it, besides your gonna know where it is anyways with your probe report.

And in your logs it shows you the trail as well ;)

Probes are also so small they can completely avoid ALL mine fields no matter how big they are. Only fighters can possibly detect probes and destroy them but they are hampered in detecting probes because of their small size.

Wonderful, a way to test the scan levels before you enter enemy sector with your stealth ship, move in, make a back door, Smack down!!!! I need to invest more in my front door!!!!!

Maybe... :)

Planet SD Sensor tech levels are degraded to about 1/3 of their normal abilities when it comes to detecting a probe. You would need 600 SD Sensor tech to ALWAYS detect a probe with a level 200 cloak.

Probes are like fleas. You never know they are there until they bite you. ;)

Sounds like they are going to be more like Stealthed Trojan horses that are looking to make a backdoor in your operating system. :worried: I can see myself having mixed thoughts about this. :)

Well, ships can detect probes easier than sector defense. So probes are highly vulnerable to being seen by an enemy online moving around in their ship.

You have released a horrible scourge upon the Universe. I have infiltrated almost 10 different enemy SG's.... I have yet to get lucky enough to find a break in sector... But it will happen....

Ok, we have refined the probes a little more.

Any probe can now act like a sentry probe when a ship enters the sector a probe is sitting.

If the probe detects the ship it will send a shoutbox message to the TEAM shouts. So to get this shoutbox message you must be in a team. The owner of the probe will also get a probe log entry giving the Player name, Shiptype and Sector.

If you want to know the name of the pilot of the ship you will need sensors over level 200. Anything below 200 and only the ship class and sector will be recorded by the probe.

There also a chance the probe will be able to SCAN the ship when it enters the sector. If it successfully scans the ship it will create a probe log entry with as much information about the ship as it can detect.
