We have found that warp/realspace probes were a HUGE sinkhole in processor usage. This was because of the sector defense checks we were performing. There was always a chance that fighters could destroy a probe if a planets SD sensors detected it entering the sector.
We have decided to make probes 100% IMMUNE to all sector defenses. The only way a probe can be destroyed is by a ship shooting it.
By removing the SD check we sped up the probe scheduler by around 340%. Since probes were already 100% immune to mines we figured they should also be immune to all sector defense since they are so tiny anyway.
