 Post subject: The beta and replacement for fast...

Well, I am almost ready to get those two games rolling. I had alot of things I needed to finalize before starting them.

The Beta game will be using the normal settings and will have alot of new changes happening to it over the next couple of months.

The replacement for the fast game will be using the same starting code as the beta game but will not be updated with the beta changes.

There is ONE huge change that will affect the planet farmers. Those are people who build hundreds of planets. The planetary apocolypse is nolonger generated based upon ALL planets in the game. Basically the old apocolypse code would pick one planet out of ALL of the planets in the game and have something bad happen to it. The more planets in the game the less often you probably saw something bad happen to one of your planets.

The new change is now based upon the number of planets EACH player owns. The more planets YOU own the more likely you will have an apocolypse happen. So if you have 400 planets expect to see some apocolypses happening fairly often. There is also a GRACE period of 5 planets where you will never have an apocolypse. Once you have a 6th planet then bad things can start to happen but they will be very, very rare. But the more planets you have the more likely something might happen to one of them.

Once we get research running you will be able to research things to cut down or elimionate the bad things. But in addition there will be a larger variety of bad things that might happen. Like a drought that cuts down on organics production, earthquakes that shut down ore production, strikes by workers that slow down fighter and torp production, power satalites that are damaged by meteor showers that cut down energy production, ect. Those are some of the things you might see cropping up in the beta game.

That is something that will be coming in the future.

And the reason you cannot see the dignitary percentage is because it will ALWAYS be changing. How effective a dignitary may be is not a preset value that stays preset for as long as the dig has the job. It will be totally random each time they are activated.

planetary apocolypse: So around how many percentage of your planets will be infected? Currently I have close to 400 planets over at the main forum, I do see disasters quite often and an average 7-9 planets indy on my arses. So will it be around lets say 5% of your planets? And this planetary apocolypse ..is it only over at the Odd Ball server? Or is this part of the Vr .22?


And one more thing....are there more games over at de casino in this next release or thats somewhere down the road? :P

I was mentioning the disaster too as well indies. Disasters from my observation of my planets are around 1 percent. So I was jus curious to jus how much percentage or perhaps totally random. If that's the case oh well there is the casino for quick richness and pts. 8)

Well thats the plan... ya wanna write some :) hehe Just had my head elsewhere... but the plan has always been to have several games.
