I just wanted to mention a couple of things about upgrading.

1. There will always be an upgrade program included with each release, if needed, that will allow admins to upgrade their games database to the latest version. This will allow game admins to keep an existing game going without having to reset the game when they apply the upgraded software to an existing game. There may be multiple upgrade programs. Use the one that applies to your install.

2. If you have unpacked the release files on your computer and plan to ftp upload the unpacked files to an existing game you MUST disable any options that allow the ftp upload to bypass any newer or existing files on the server. I have found that WSFTP is very notorious for thinking that files on the server are newer than the ones being uploaded when that is not the case. So what happens is you have older files left on the server that end up causing problems. This can cause people to think there are problems with the game when in fact they were caused by the ftp program. If your ftp program has an option similar to "Don't transfer older or same files during directory transfers." make sure the option is TURNED OFF. If you are prompted asking if you should overwrite an existing file click on "Yes" or "Yes to All". This is the only way you are guaranteed to overwrite all files.

I hope this helps a little when it comes to upgrading to newer versions of the game.

It's in the INSTALL text file in the docs directory. Not that anyone reads them. :)
